About Us
The Francis Howell Hockey Club was founded in 1982 to provide a competitive hockey experience for 7th-12th grade students who attend Francis Howell High School, Francis Howell Middle School and Bryan Middle School in the Francis Howell School District.
Our players and coaches work toward individual excellence while focusing on hockey fundamentals, sportsmanship and team-oriented results in a positive and competitive environment. Players will learn to respect their teammates, coaches, referees and opposing teams. They must always recognize the efforts of their teammates and work to make our weakest link better. They will learn to appreciate, respect and love the game of hockey and play it the way it was meant to be played.
The Francis Howell Hockey Club is a non-school, sponsored club. This means that other than playing under the Vikings name and logo, the school does not contribute to, nor oversee the operation of the Club. However, playing under the Vikings name requires that the club operate and conduct itself in a manner that reflects positively upon the school.
The Francis Howell Hockey Club participates in the Mid-States High School Club Hockey Association (MSCHA) as a member of the St. Charles Conference. MSCHA is governed by Missouri Hockey, Inc., and affiliated with USA Hockey, Inc. These governing organizations are not affiliated with the MSHSAA.
We hold a summer skate program open to all potential players that takes place from June-August. Varsity and Junior Varsity evaluations take place in late August, with pre-season practices beginning the first week of September. The varsity and junior varsity regular seasons run from late October through January, with playoffs held in February.
B team practices (2009-2011 birth years) begin in early November. The B-team will play a series of games beginning in mid-December and concluding in late March.
Ice times and dates for each team’s activities will be posted on the club website when they become available and on the Crossbar app. Coaches and board members maintain the Crossbar app which is used as the primary source of information for the club time sensitive communications such as game and practice day changes, coach and player communication, player availability, etc. The app is free to download.
The FHHC is registered with the IRS as a 501[c][3] non-profit youth sports organization, and a tax return is filed annually with IRS. We support all Varsity, Junior Varsity (JV), and Developmental/B programs. We are governed by elected officers: President, Vice-president, Treasurer, Secretary, Club Coordinator, Registrar and Operations. The membership votes each March on the following year’s officers. We conduct various fundraisers throughout the year including Hollywood Amphitheater Concerts for families to help offset their club fees and expenses.
If you wish to receive information about our program and activities contact a member of the Board of Directors or REGISTER your player on our website.
